Most contemporary furnaces use natural gas, electricity, or oil. Oil has started to fade, however, with many homes converting over to gas. If you are considering a furnace for your home for the coming winter, your choice will most likely come down to gas or electric.
Both steam boilers and hot water boilers offer energy efficiency, but in different ways. A steam boiler uses more energy to boil the water, but uses less energy during the transfer of heat. A hot water boiler uses less energy to create hot water, but more energy during the transfer of heat.
An air conditioner provides cold air inside your home or enclosed space by actually removing heat and humidity from the indoor air. It returns the cooled air to the indoor space, and transfers the unwanted heat and humidity outside.
What is a heat pump? This is a very common question for HVAC professionals, as heat pumps are an often misunderstood marvel of engineering and design. In the simplest sense, a heat pump “pumps heat” from one place to another, moving heat out of your home when you want it cooler, and pumping heat into your home when you want it warmer.
High Velocity Systems are an energy efficient air delivery system that can be designed to provide both heating and cooling. A High Velocity SDHV (Small Duct High Velocity) System works on the principle of pressure rather than air velocity. It is quite different than a conventional furnace, the main difference being that the supply duct work is all "small diameter" or "mini duct"
The geothermal heat pump, also known as the ground source heat pump, is a highly efficient renewable energy technology that is gaining wide acceptance for both residential and commercial buildings. Geothermal heat pumps are used for space heating and cooling, as well as water heating.
Mini-split systems are great for both heating and cooling your home. A mini-split system with a heat pump will ensure you and your loved ones are warm all winter long. With granular temperature control, you can set each room to your exact specifications to ensure you are always as cozy as possible.
